Colourpop Haul & Reviews!!

Colourpop which has largely influenced matte lip industry with their beautiful and inexpensive lip shades, released their new spring collection (limited edition) in three monochromatic phases in the month of March this year: 

Phase 1 Nectar

Phase 2 Pink

Phase 3 Sand

Each collection  features products in similar tones with an idea to create monochromatic looks. Each pack comes with a combination of 3 different lip shades i.e Ultra Matte Lip, Ultra Satin Lip and Ultra Glossy. If you have ever ordered anything from Colourpop before, you probably know how great their packaging is. Since this was my first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how subtly pretty it was. They also sent me a sweet hand written Card along with my products. 

When I saw their notification about the same on Instagram I couldn't stop myself and had to order one for myself. During their release they had free domestic shipping. Hence, I called my brother (Gopal Tumkur) who stays in USA and asked him to order Phase 1 but he was too generous to send me some more goodies along with this bundle. These are a lippie stix in shade Cami (their hot selling shade), an Ultra Matte liquid lipstick in Tulle and a Brow Colour in Bangin Brunette which is a perfect shade for Indian brows. And here it is - my Colourpop haul.💚💛

Product Description:

It is one of their best selling lip-shades from Colourpop's Nectar Collection. It contains 3 lip shades:-

The Twirl - An Ultra Matte Pinkish Coral lip shade

Up Do - An Ultra Glossy Coral lip shade with a creme finish

Ultra Matte is a thin light-weight formula that glides easily on to the lips leaving a very super intense colour with matte finish. Pigmentation is super good. It has a great lasting power so you don't need to re-apply after eating or drinking anything untill 6 hours and its completely kiss proof and doesnot transfer which is what I love the most. 

Ultra Glossy lip shade provides extreme shine like any other lipgloss and is slightly sticky but not tacky. The gloss glides very easily and leaving your lips looking healthier fuller and shining. This lip shade can make any one look fresh and bright but you need to reapply this in regular intervals as it does not stay as long as the Ultra Matte one. It does transfer hence is not kiss proof. 

Ultra Satin is a very comfortable bold lipstick with a satin finish. So if you suffer from dry lips then this can be an option for you. It contains emollient ingredients for added moisture, keeping lips looking fresh and super comfortable. the formula of this lip shade is very creamy. It has a miner transfer but is neither a matte nor too glossy. This one is also extremely long wearing but is not a kiss proof.

Overall, all these above mentioned three shades are suitable for any Indian Skin tone and they fall under Coral and Nude family. For smoother application one must exfoliate their lips. The only con I could find is that you cant buy a single shade from these bundles which forces you to buy the entire kit. And as always, their collection is limited to the season hence you need to buy untill their stocks lasts.

Lippie Stix- Cami

Cami is a warm mauve ultra matte lipstick which is their hot selling lip shade with full coverage loaded  with natural ingredients like Shea butter, Mango, Avocado and Vitamin E. All these ingredients not only give a smooth finish to your lips but also moisturizes them.

It has great pigmentation and the texture of the lippie stix is super creamy but yet matte. It glides like a butter and is absolutely smooth and light weight on lips.

The formula held up fairly well to eating and for drinking/sipping a cup of coffee/tea. As the formula is very thin they slide or move away from your lips. They do fade out after 6 hours but once you retouch it then its back to place. For $5 it is a good deal. The lip shade has a light scent but not a discernible taste. Overall, it is a very satisfying and a great product. Packaging is amazing and very attractive. Mauve pink lovers will love this shade. It can go well on all skin tones and is a perfect shade for any occasion.

Ultra Matte Liquid lipstick - Tulle

Tulle is medium-dark dusky burgundy bold matte liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, light-weight and glides smoothly. It starts off glossy but then dries off quickly on its application hence its not possible to blend this shade with another shade. Pigmentation is super intense. Like the other shades, it is a very long lasting and 100% kiss proof. It is necessary to exfoliate your lips before applying this lipstick and for dry lips it would be advisable to apply a lip balm and dab it off with a tissue paper before applying this shade so that you don't face cracks or lines on your lips. This shade lasted fro about 8-9 hours on my lips without fading.

My tip while you apply these liquid lipsticks:

Start in the middle of the lip and work towards the edges. Keep your lips partially open untill it dries down completely. Apply applying with the applicator you can also use your fingers to dab the product or to press the product in your lips to get a more fuller look. Lining your lips with a lipliner before its application will enhance the look.

Brow Colour - Bangin Brunette

Colourpop offers 8 differed shades under their Brow Colour range and Bangin Brunette was my favourite pick from all these. A good brow can change the entire makeup look. 
Bangin Brunette is a warm toned brown brow colour. It is water resistant and all-day-wear cream gel formula in a pot and for its longevity, I would recommend tight closure of the pot so that the gel doesn't dry up easily. You would need an angled brush for a precise application. The colour payoff is opaque and rich so you really dont need much of a product.
A little goes a long way and I can do my entire brow with only dipping my brush into the pot once for each brow. I personally, line the bottom of my brow first, brush my brows with spoolie and then fill it up. The product is very creamy and glides very easily without any effort and stays smudge proof for good 8-10 hours untill I get it off with a make up remover. I have tried many brow products before but nothing has impressed me as much as this $6 one did. It gives my brow a very natural look. If you are thinking of buying a real good brow product, then I would definitely recommend this. You also get the same shade in a pencil form with a spoolie and that too for just $5.

My Views:

No matter what makeup mood you are in, you'll always have a formula to match by Colourpop. The best part of Coloupop products is that they are paraben free and sultfate free. So these shades will never damage you skin. 

I always wanted to own a few of their products since a very long time. Every youtuber was raving about their matte lip shades and it was a must buy for me as well. Cant thank my brother for buying these for me and sending them across his friend right before my birthday as my gift.

Bath and Body Works CocoShea Cucumber Foaming Scrub - Reviews!!

We all know about Bath and Body works, USA and their products which are to die for. Today, I would be reviewing one of their newly launched scrubs for you all. Hope this post helps you in understanding the benefits of a good scrub and how you could get a glowing hyrdrated skin.

Bath & Body Works came up recently with three different scrubs under their CocoShea line :-

1. Cucumber 

2. Honey

3. Coconut  

My sister-in-law (Shilpi Pathak Devurkar) generously gifted me two of these - Cucumber Refreshing Foaming Scrub and Honey Sugar Scrub. Between the two of these, Cucumber one became my most favourite and all I can say after using it for a month is WOW.

What is a scrub and why it is a must have in our daily skin care routine?

Scrub is a beauty product which is used to deep cleanse or exfoliate the skin of the face; which is nothing but rubbing or washing your face with a granular substance to remove all the dead skin cells, blackheads and whiteheads from your skin; to make it feel youthful, beautiful and glowing. Unlike a regular soap or a cleanser, a facial scrub uses small particles or beads to get rid of the old skin cells and makes way for the new ones which in a process known as exfoliation. It is important to exfoliate atleast twice a week for a healthy complexion. Without a granular exfoliation, you can end up with clogged pores, which can block moisturizer from getting into deeper layers making your skin look dull and unattractive. Exfoliation is a must for any oily or a combination skin type person.

What makes it WOW?

I am a combination skin person hence I always face issues with oily t-zone & blackheads-dead skin problems in that area. Scrubs have always been my savior and one of my must have product in my daily skincare regimen and this cucumber scrub is divine. I wish we could get such good products in India as well. I deep cleanse my face on a regular basis before I wear makeup and exfoliate my skin thrice a week. This routine has not only helped to keep my skin hydrated but also glowing.  

About the product - 

The product comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a lid and is very travel friendly. The transparent see through packaging enables to get a glimpse of the actual product inside the tube even before you buy. The texture of this scrub is very nice and attractive . Its a gel based scrub which has nice rough pumice which helps to remove all the unwanted cells of the face and gives a natural looking skin. The consistency of the gel is neither too thick nor too watery just the way it should be. Best part about this scrub is that it lathers very well. The colour of the scrub is light mint green. It has a very powerful and a very refreshing cucumber scent which I loved the most. So, if you don't like the smell of a cucumber then this product may not work for you. 

This product is not very harsh and dense unlike St. Ives Apricot Scrub which takes away all the moisture off your face and hence leaves your skin smooth, clean and glowing even after using it thrice a week. So, Bye Bye Dullness, Hello Glowing Cheeks!!

The only con I found about the product is that it may not be very effective for extremely dry skin as its very gentle but it might definitely work as a very good daily cleanser specially in summers. 

My verdict-

This magical product leaves your skin smooth, soft and nourished just the way I always wanted it to be. Hence, it definitely gets a thumbs up from me 👍👍

Versace Bright Crystal Perfume - Review!

Meet my two most favourite pals: Versace Perfume and CharlesandKeith Sling. Thank you hubby Devang Panchal and sis Madhavi Tumkur for these wonderful gifts. You both surely know how to spoil me.

I fell in love with this perfume 6 years back, when my brother Aditya Devurkar gifted this from states. Thank you Adi for being so generous and for introducing me to this wonderful thing which has now become a part of my identity. I have already done with 2 such bottles, but still cant get over with this. 

First of all, the pink (which is one of my most favourite colour) bottle is gorgeous and to top that it offers sweet feminine fragrance, perfect for day and for night wear. The top notes comprises of pomegranate, yuzu and frosted accord. Peony, Magnolia are in the center of the composition while the white fresh lotus note intensifies the sweetness of this fragrance. The intoxicating base introduces amber note extract from plants. This fresh and sensual fragrance was designed by Alberto Morillas in 2006.

I just love this because of its stylish looks and its lasting power. It really stays for long specially when sprayed on clothes than skin. This attractive bottle comes with a huge faux diamond as its cap, which makes it very stylish and unique. Right is the center, is the Versace logo engraved in coin shape. It doesn't look less than a jewel when kept on the dressing table. Not only it enhances my table looks but it also looks very elegant and classy.

The soft pink colour perfume smells heavenly and is an instant mood lifter and best for summer days.

Overall, it is an expensive perfume priced at Rs. 3100/- for a 30ml bottle (@Shoppers Stop, Mumbai) but it lives up to my expectation of a good fragrance, packaging, lasting power and its eminent base note.

I would highly recommend this to everyone who likes fresh and sensuous fragrance. It is definitely, a must buy from me.

Review - The Body Shop British Petal-Soft Rose Hand Cream!!

Hand serum is always a forgotten step in our skin care regimen. Along with our face, our hands too need that extra care and moisture. There are lot many serums available in market to take care of our hands, but as you all know I am madly in love with The Body Shop products specially their British Rose range of products and having their hand cream was nothing new for me. 

So, today I will be reviewing The Body Shop British Rose Hand Cream for you all.

About the Packaging

The packaging of this hand cream is very small and handy. Its comes in a very petite squeeze tube and is travel friendly. The colour of the tube is light baby pink with The Body Shop label in the center and the lid in black. The contrast colour combination is very attractive just like the other products from this range. Back of the tube consist of the product details . 

About the Product

As soon as you unroll the cap, aroma of rose just engulfs you. The fragrance is very light & refreshing and not overpowering. The texture of the cream is not too thick nor too thin, I could say medium consistency.

This beautifully scented rose hand cream just soaks into your skin instantly leaving behind soft, touchable hands along with its divine fragrance. My entire room fills up with its refreshing scent the moment I apply this cream. It is non greasy and absorbs quickly, which is what I loved the most about this product. A pea size quantity is sufficient for the palms and back of hands. For a normal skin, this is just a perfect one; not too heavy nor sticky but yet moisturising with its amazing fragrance which will make you smell your hands again and again.

This magic portion gives your hands the super boost which you always wanted.

The only con I found about the product is that it is not very effective for extremely dry hands but it might definitely work as a very good day cream for summers.

Time to bring coral and pinks out. Get your summery look with Makeup Revolution London All about Cream Ultra Blush Palette! 

Makeup Revolution is almost everywhere today. They are not only an amazing brand when to comes to latest makeup trends but at the same time very pocket friendly. Their quality will never disappoint you. Somehow, I have fallen in love with the cream products lately and one of them which I have been using since a year is this blush palette.

Talking about the product:

This beautiful blush palette comprises of 8 stunning blush shades from corals to pinks and creams. Packing is quite sturdy, sleek and classy with its brand written in gold in the center. It comes in a black glossy packaging with a big size mirror, which gets it a few additional brownie points. All the colours are different from each other and perfect for everyday natural look. You just can't go wrong with this palette.

My review:

These cream blushers are literally like butter and the best amongst what I have used after MAC. They blend very easily. They are highly pigmented and melts into your skin without much efforts to bring a beautiful velvety soft finish look to your cheeks. I have a combination skin and they last for good 3-4 hours on my cheeks without a re-touch. On the days when I want to get a longer look out of them, I set it with a powder blush.

Top 8 Summer Lip shades!!

Want to have the best pout ever?? Exfoliating with lip-scrubs and moisturizing your lips might be of great help, but there is no charm in it without a nice bright lip shade. A bright dazzling lip shade can instantly change your look from dab to fab. 

As Mumbai's temperature & humidity is soaring at an exponential rate, there are only a few things that keep me sane : My peach ice tea, my white shorts and the fact that I can now retire my nude lip shades and wear some awesome, bright summery lip shades.

Coral is the perfect shade for spring/summer that suits every single skin-tone and its a definitely a summer must have. This shade immediately brightens up my face and enhances my look and if you are on the warmer side then this shade is a bonus and will surely rock on you.

2. Fuchsias & Pinks

Summer is a great season for the lip statement and nothing makes you stand out than your hot pink lips. Fuchsia is in for this season & best to wear with minimalist makeup and subtle colour clothes. 

My favorite fuchsia colour is from L'Oreal Colour Rich Lipstick Crazy Fuchsia and in pink its MAC Mehr suitable for any Indian skin-tone, you may also try Colourbar's Take Me As I Am Flirtatious Pink, Revlon's Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour in Obsession and Miss Claire in No 5 and Lakme Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek colour in Blush Velvet as far as pink is concerned.

And if you are shy from bold look of orange lip colour like Colourbar's Creme Touch lipstick in Burnt Orange which is one of my favourite shade or Colourbar's Tangerine or try a muted approach instead with Bronze Orange colour from Maybelline's Colour Sensational range which is a real go for subtle orange lip for summers.

My views:

All the shades in this palette are super blendable and they gives a very natural look to my brow. 

The arch defining creme is best to gently neaten up the edges and to  give a crisper and a sharper look to my brows. 

I am not a big fan of highlighting my brow-bone, but if you like then this kit also comes with a shimmery highlight in pale pink.

Mini tweezers helps to get over with excess hair specially when I am bored to get my eyebrows done or when I am travelling.

Packaging is amazing and very sturdy. 

Eyebrow pencil that comes along with this palette is the prefect dark brown that can match any Asian skintone. 

Brushes are of good quality and there is no shedding of hair.

Overall, this is a brilliant palette packed with loads of brow choices to suit every person and very pocket friendly. So, its definitely worth buying!! 

Review Time - Clinique: All About Shadow Single!!

I couldn't resist myself from buying this cute case from Sephora, Mumbai last December. And now-a-days eye makeup looks are the biggest 'in' thing. 

The whole aura of any eye makeup look - be it smoky & sultry or simple neutral depends on quality and the pigmentation of the eye shadows and I must say that I swear by Clinique for their eye makeup. 

I usually opt for warm colours like browns and pinks but I was ecstatic to see how this colour made me look gorgeous in just no time. Keep reading to know more about this.

About the product:

All About Shadows are long wear powder eye colours by Clinique in soft matte, soft shimmer and super shimmer. This graphite eye shadow is grayish purple in colour, extremely vibrant and super shimmery. True to colour, deep saturation & smooth coverage makes these shadows prefect for every occasion. These are also Ophthalmologist tested for the most sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers.

Why this?

What attracted me to this, is its cute slim silver petite case with a mirror and a sponge applicator which makes it travel friendly.









My views:

• These shadows are super pigmented and extremely vibrant.
• Use it alone or team it up with your other favourites, to get a dramatic eye look.
• I love to use this shimmery shade to the outer corner of my eyes and to my lower lash line to create a dramatic smokey eye look. It gives an intense colour pay off in one gentle swipe with nearly nil fall outs.
• The texture is so creamy that it glides on in just one stroke.
• I highly recommend these to oily skin people as these shades stay all day long even without a primer, so no creasing, no flaking and no fading.

The only disadvantage of this product is that it isn't pocket friendly but nevertheless I'm impressed, truly I am!!

Summer Makeup Haves!!

Summer ☼ is in full force and the temperature outside is getting a little too hot & with hot weather, comes a change in our makeup products!

I love a good summer glow, so these are my few summer haves....

1. Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation (Shade - 230 Natural buff) 

I love using this foundation for my base as I have a combination skin and my t-zone tends to get really oily.  It has a perfect creamy texture and is matte, which is best for everyday wear specially in this weather. Very affordable and a hydrating medium to high coverage oil free foundation. It is extremely lightweight & blends very easily making my skin look so naturally bright as if  I am not wearing any makeup. I like to use this foundation with a damp beauty blender to get a perfect base. You may also use a  brush or blend it using your fingers.

2. Mac Studio Fix - Pressed Powder (Shade - NC 40)

I just cant live without this setting powder as it controls oil very well and thus improves longevity of a liquid foundation under it. I love to set my base with this powder by gently dabbing the product with a puff on the areas of my face which tends to get oily during the day. Just perfect for the summers!

3. Mac Casual Lip & Cheek Colour (Shade - Hi Jinks)

Hi Jinks is a bright coral blush with warm undertones that comes in a pot wih a luminous finish. I prefer to use cream based products as they make my skin glowy & fresh and there is nothing more easier than using a cream blush. For a quick fresh look, MAC Colour is something that doesnot crease, easy to blend, super pigmented and stays in heat as well. This is just a perfect one if you need an instant glow to your cheeks and nice pop of colour to your lips. 
4. Lakme Absolute Sun-kissed Bronzer 
This product is from Lakme Absolute Illuminating makeup collection designed by Sabyasachi and the first Indian brand to launch a bronzer. It comes with two warm bronzing shades, highly pigmented with fine shimmer that perks up my complexion. It adds beautiful radiant glow and warmth to my face. Since the time I tried this, I am in love with this!

5. Colourbar Cream Touch Lipstick (Shade - 012 Nude Coral) / Estee Lauder High Intensity Lip Lacquer ( Shade - Melting Sun)
I like to implement glossy lips as they go well on glowy skin and for summers and my top 2 favourites are from the Colourbar and Estee Lauder. An orange coral shade is my perfect pop of colour for this summer.  The colourbar lipstick is super creamy as its name says and gives a very smooth lustrous shine to my lips where as Estee's melting sun is a premium lip lacquer which is richly pigmented to create a luscious, wet, 6-hour colour brilliance look. These shades perfectly suit my complexion and brighten my look.

6. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner 

This is one of my favourite eyeliners and the best thing about this is that it comes with a brush of its own. The texture is very soft & creamy and glides very smoothly. It is quite pigmented hence a single stroke is good enough to get that intense black finish. The colour payoff is equally commendable for the waterline. It is matte which is best for this season.

7. Clinique High Impact Mascara

It is very hard to get disappointed with Clinique mascaras. This one is an incredible mascara which not only magnifies my lashes to twice its size but also adds maximum volume. Specially designed wand that resists flaking and smudging. This mascara is very jet black, absolutely smooth and does not crumple up on my lashes & stays on for nearly the whole day. 

8. MAC Cream Colour Base (Shade - Improper Copper)

This is a multipurpose product like Hi Jinks, which can be used as a highlighter and as an eyeshadow. It has a very creamy, soft light weight texture which makes it very easy to blend and apply. When used on top of the cheeks and brow bones as a highlighter, it gives a very nice dewy shimmery glow. It gives a very radiant look in just no time. 

9. Makeup Revolution pro Fix Oil Control Makeup Fixing Spray

I always end my makeup routine with a setting spray to help blend all the makeup nicely together. This pro fix spray helps to keep my makeup in place for a longer time and protects against heat & humidity. It leaves a beautiful natural looking luminous look to my skin which I absolutely love and helps my makeup stay for long. To get a perfect matte flawless finish to my makeup in summers, I use this spray before applying foundation as well, in this way I get best results in terms of controlling oil. I have always been a big fan of L'Oreal as I find them very good compared to other products and their shampoos have been no different. • It comes in a very attractive & beautiful black and pink plastic packaging and in 4 different sizes; the smallest being 75 ml @ Rs. 55/- and the biggest size being 640 ml @ Rs. 399/- which comes with a pump dispenser. 
• The colour of the shampoo is milky white and is not very thick in consistency. It has a very refreshing fragrance which lingers on for sometime, even after the wash.
• The shampoo lathers very well and cleans the scalp from oil and all other impurities. Hair looks healthy, shinny, smooth and bouncy.
• Keeps hair free from tangles thereby reducing the hair-fall considerably. Use it regularly & for the best results, use it along with its conditioner and leave-in tonic.
